Consular Section is open Monday to Friday,

9.30 -
12.30. If applying by post (postal applications are for British passport
holders only, please send applications to: The Consular Section, Taipei
Representative Office in the UK, 50 Grosvenor Gardens, London SW1W 0EB. You
must enclose a self-stamped and addressed envelope with enough postage for
registered or recorded mail.
Your application will not be accepted without this. We cannot accept
responsibility for any postal delays which affect the timely processing of
visa application, and therefore strongly recommend that such applications be
made in person. |

VISA EXEMPTIONS |

LANDING VISA |

2. |
Requirements: |
|
|
|
|
(1) |
A passport valid for at least six months. |
|
|
|
(2) |
A confirmed return air ticket or an air ticket and a visa for the next destination, and a confirmed seat reservation for departure. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
(3) |
A completed application form with a photo. |
|
|
|
(4) |
A visa fee of NT$1200 dollars (note, the fee is waived for citizens from countries with reciprocal agreements) and a handling fee of NT$800 dollars. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
(5) |
No criminal record, verified by the airport police. |
|
|
3. |
Duration of stay: |
|
|
|
|
30 days (no extension is permitted) |
|
|
|
4. |
Disembarkation ports: |

C.K.S. International Airport and Kaohsiung International Airport. |

Application: |
|

(1) |
Passengers entering the Republic of China through C.K.S. International Airport may apply for a landing visa at the Visa Office at C.K.S. International Airport, Bureau of Consular Affiars, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
(2) |
Passengers entering the Republic of China through Kaohsiung International Airport may apply for a “temporary entry permit” at the Kaohsiung Station Aviation Police Bureau. Passengers must exchange the permit for a visa at the Bureau of Consular Affairs or its Kaohsiung Office within three days, or otherwise be subjected to administrative penalty for overstaying. |

III. |
SINGLE ENTRY VISA (form) |

|
(for visits with the purposes of transit, tourism, visiting family, study or training, business, technical assistance, medical treatment, etc.) |

|
|
|
|
This allows one entry only, and is valid for 3 months from the date of issue. |
||
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Some applicants may stay in the R.O.C. for an initial period of 60 days, after which up to 2 extensions of 60 days each may be granted. Before the expiry of the initial 60 days, the applicants should go to a local police station in Taiwan with documents providing evidence of the reasons for their extension. |

|
|
|
|
|
|
Applicants are required to produce the following: |

A confirmed return air ticket or an air ticket and a visa for the next destination, together with a confirmed seat reservation for departure |

(3) |
A completed application form with two photos. |
|

Other original documents verifying the purpose of the visit (e.g. a business letter, school letter, or an invitation letter from a sponsor in Taiwan), or a recent bank statement. |

(5) |
A visa fee of £25.00, or£70 for U.S.A. passport holders. |
|
|
|
(6) |
A self-stamped and addressed envelope. |

IV. |
MULTIPLE ENTRY VISA: For business purposes only (form) |

|
|
|
|
|
|
|
This allows multiple entries and is valid for 6 months from the date of issue. |
||
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Applicants are required to produce the following: |
||
|
|
(1) |
A passport valid for at least six months. |
|
|
|
(2) |
A letter of confirmation from the applicant’s employer in the U.K., clearly stating the purpose of the trip. |
|
|
|
(3) |
An letter of invitation from a company in Taiwan. |
|
|
|
(4) |
A completed application form with two photos. |
|
|
|
(5) |
A visa fee of£50.00, or£70 for U.S.A. passport holders. |
|
|
|
(6) |
A self-stamped and addressed envelope. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
NOTE |

1. |
This office usually needs one working day to issue a Visitor Visa upon receipt of the application. |
||
|
2. |
Fees can be paid by cash, Company cheque, postal order, or banker's draft. Please make your cheque payable to the “Taipei Representative Office in the U.K.” or “TRO in the U.K.”, and write your name, address, telephone number and cheque guarantee card number on the back. Please note that no personal cheques are accepted. |

3. |
No extension of stay will be granted to those holding a Visitor Visa whose duration of stay is only 2 weeks and 30 days, except for emergencies or matters of vital importance. |
||
|
|
|||
|
4. |
Visitor Visa holders are not permitted to assume employment in the R.O.C. without prior authorization. |
||
|
5. |
Other documents to determine identity may be requested by the office. |
||
|
6. |
The office cannot process visas for passports sent from overseas. |
||
|

|
|

Cholera and Yellow Fever vaccinations are required if arriving from affected areas. Precautions against Cholera, Typhoid and Polio are recommended. Tap water should be boiled. |
