RESIDENT VISA FOR SPOUSE

The Consular Section is open Monday to Friday, during the hours 9.30 - 12.30.  If applying by post (postal applications are for British passport holders only), you must enclose a self-stamped and addressed envelope with enough postage for registered or recorded mail.  Your application will not be accepted without this. We cannot accept responsibility for any postal delays which may affect the timely processing of an application, and therefore strongly recommend that such applications are made in person.

 

 

Requirements:

A passport valid for at least six months.

An application form with two passport size photos.

A recent (within 3 months) original copy of the Taiwanese Household of Registry, clearly showing the name of the applicant.

An original marriage certificate legalized by this Office or issued by the Taiwanese authorities

A recent (within 3 months) original copy of the applicatn’s British police record (please contact National Identification Service, Subject Access Office, Room 350, New Scotland Yard, Broadway, London SW1H 0BG, Tel: 020-72302958), legalized by this Office.

A health check report legalized by this Office (requirements enclosed) [Specialist's (White Collar) dependants are not need this requirement from 1 Dec 2006]

   7 Note that documents 5 and 6 need stamping by the Legalization Department (British Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Old Admiralty Building, Whitehall, Lonodn, SW1W 2LG, Tel: 020-70081111) before submission.

There is a charge of £45, (£70  for holders of USA passports) for each application which can be paid by cash, cheque, postal order, or banker's draft. Please make your cheque payable to the " Taipei Representative Office in the UK " or the " TRO in. the UK ", and write your name, telephone number and cheque guarantee card number on the back.
